Colin Hodgson

A Métis athlete born in Edmonton, Colin grew up in Alberta honing his curling skills since the age of four in Drayton Valley and Lacombe. A Canada Winter Games Gold medal helped spring forward his career into the men's ranks. After a move to his historic family homeland of Winnipeg, Colin joined forces with established men's teams and went on to qualify for six Brier Canadian Men's Championships and two Canadian Olympic Trials. In his time away from training, Colin was a founding member of the Indigenous company Dynasty Curling Ltd which has become the largest uniform supplier in the world to the sport of curling. Built on the principles of being Canadian made, Indigenous led, and being inclusive, Dynasty Curling achieved one of its major goals of creating apparel for Canada and other countries at International competitions, European Championships, World Championships, and the Olympic Games. Colin has taught youth all over the world, served on national scholarship panels, safe sport committees, built performance programs for athletes in various sports, and is a mental health advocate and public speaker. Ranked as one of the top athletes in the world at his position, Colin strives to have positive change in the sport so that all feel welcome.
