Born and raised in North Vancouver, Emily has been involved in sports all of her life. She fell in love with wrestling when she entered high school, but she unfortunately injured her elbow and shoulder at the age of 18. This didn’t slow her down — she transitioned to triathlon, then eventually found her way into Paralympic cross-country skiing and biathlon. Emily started skiing in 2014 and went to her first Paralympic games in 2018. She was third in the team relay at the 2017 World Championships, third in the 7.5km at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, and was second with her team in the team relay at the same Games. Emily has a diploma in kinesiology and is currently finishing her bachelor’s degree in psychology, specializing in sport psychology.
